THE GOAT AND THE PANTHER MORAL STORY

There was a small goat that used to graze along with many friends in the mountain forest nearby a village. They were a very happy flock. Things went smoothly. They sang and danced all along. A panther stalked that area. He was a very greedy panther.

He had the habit of attacking all animals in and around the village. Even if the animals pleaded for mercy, the panther never minded. He killed them. Once, the poor goat was stalked by the panther. The goat was very afraid. He tried hard to escape. But, he was well cornered.

He thought, "I have to do something to escape." So, the goat started to cook a plan. He stopped running and turned. With a gentle smile, he ran to the panther and said, "Hey mighty panther! You are such a great killing machine. You can kill anyone with one mighty stroke. But, look at me. I am so weak. can't even run as fast as you can. Why do you waste your energy by killing me?" The panther got confused and asked, "So, what do you want me to do now?"

The goat took advantage of this confusion and said, "Look there beyond the mountain. I saw a stout bull grazing there. If you can catch up, you will have your stomach full." The panther was a very greedy one, wasn't he! So he left the goat and ran towards the mountain. The lucky goat escaped and ran to his friends happily.

The lumberjacks set aside their work and went away for their lunch.         Pintu ran to the log with the wedge stuck deep inside. His curiosity increased. He left his hand inside the split end and tried to pull the log apart. Nothing happened. So Pintu decided to pull out the wedge and see what happened. In his anxiety, Pintu did not notice that he was sitting across the log and that his tail was wagering in the split of the log.  The moment Pintu pulled out ...

Sometimes he had to stay hungry for days together if he could not find such leftover food.  A jackal and a crow were true followers of the lion. They were happy to stay with the lion and eat what the lion gave them. They too were very sad to see their king's pathetic state. "We have to do something to make our king really happy," said the jackal to the crow. The crow replied, "Yes, my friend. We have to make our king happy." At that time they happened to come across a sick camel. The camel was counting his days. He staggered in the direction of the jackal and the crow. "What are you discussing folks?" asked the camel. The wise jackal said, "Our king lion is too old to hunt anymore. So, we were talking about who would sacrifice their life for the ki...
