THE MERCHANT AND THE FOOLISH DONKEY MORAL STORY

       Murthy was a merchant. He used to buy and sell all kinds of goods. He had a donkey to carry his load. There was a river on his way to town. It was summer, and salt was available in plenty. Murthy bought a sack full of salt, loaded his donkey, walk fast. We have to go home early." While they were crossing the river, the donkey slipped and fell down. 

The sack got soaked in water. donkey and said, "Come on You know what happened? The salt inside the sack got wet and dissolved. When the donkey managed to stand up it found that the weight of the sack got remarkably less. The next day when Murthy loaded the donkey, it thought to itself, "Today, I shall fall into the river. My load will get less heavy." The donkey enacted its drama.





It really took some more days for him to really understand what is actually going on. Murthy wanted to teach the donkey a lesson. The season changed and autumn set in. Now, cotton was available in plenty. Murthy thought, "This is the right time for me to teach a lesson to the donkey." He loaded his donkey with a sack full of cotton and left for his village. As the river approached, the donkey thought, "What a pity! 

The merchant has already loaded only a small weight of the load. If I have my dip, the weight will reduce further and I shall find it very very easy to carry the load. " With added happiness, the donkey enacted its play.

But, as the donkey tried to stand up, to its pity, it could not even stand properly. The load was very very heavy instead of being light. The donkey felt bad for its misbehaviour. From then on, the donkey did not mind carrying heavy loads for its master.

THE LIONS ATTENDANTS

         There was an old lion in a forest. He was so old that he could no longer hunt effectively. He could not get food by himself, He had to eat only the leftovers of the kills made by other animals. Sometimes he had to stay hungry for days together if he could not find such leftover food.  A jackal and a crow were true followers of the lion. They were happy to stay with the lion and eat what the lion gave them. They too were very sad to see their king's pathetic state.
