THE LION AND THE RABBIT MORAL STORY

There was a cruel lion in the forest. He was very greedy too. He tortured other animals because he was mighty. The animals could no longer bear his torture that they came to the lion and pleaded, "Oh lord of the jungle, we humbly request you consider our request.

We are willing to offer one animal a day for you. Please accept and leave us in peace." The lion also accepted this agreement. From then on, one animal was sent to the lion. Once it was the turn of a rabbit. That was a wise rabbit. He started to cook a plan on his way to the lion's den. The rabbit was late to reach the lion. The lion roared in anger, "You tiny fool, how long should I wait for your arrival? I am terribly hungry. Tell me, what made you late?"

The rabbit said in a feeble voice, "Your majesty, I was coming to your palace. On the way, I was pulled by another lion. I had to plead with him to spare me." The lion got angry and roared louder, "What, another lion in my forest! Show me!" The rabbit leads the lion to a deep ruined well. Once there, the rabbit said, "Have a peep, My Lord." The lion peeped into the well and mistook his reflection for another lion. He roared and it echoed. In his fury, the lion jumped into the well. That ended the life of a cruel king.

THE ELEPHANT AND THE HELPFUL MICE MORAL STORY

In the heart of the forest, there was a ruined palace. The king had used it as a summer resort a long time back.    Now that the king had died, there were no visitors and the palace had turned into ruins. This ruined leftover had become the shelter for a colony of mice. Once, a herd of elephants happened to cross that way. With loud trumpeting, they crumpled everything they set foot on. When they were about to crush the ruins, the chief mouse ran to the master elephant and begged, "Hey mighty elephant, we are living in these ruins for generations and generations. All our children and their children would turn homeless if your mighty feet lands on these ruins. Be kind enough to spare our lives and our homes." The kind-hearted elephant ordered its fellow elephants not to disturb the ruins and left the place without damaging it.          Days went by. Season changed. Summer came. The mice went through the entire forest in search of food. As they were appr...

THE LIZARD AND THE SAINT - MORAL STORY

There was a wicked saint who lived in a village. Although saints were very pious, this saint was the opposite. He was very cunning and selfish. He was not humble and kind. He used to chase away anyone approaching his hut. People did not like him. But, they were afraid of his curses. The saint was arrogant with his powers.      One day, a lizard happened to fall from a nearby tree into his hut. The saint turned very angry. He shouted at the lizard, "Get out of my house immediately, or. I shall curse you." The lizard ran away to save his life.        Not many days later, the same lizard slipped from the tree and fell again. This time the saint could not control his anger. He took a big stone and threw it at the lizard. The lizard was very active. He ran fast and escaped from the stone. However, the saint was not lucky. The stone missed the lizard and rebounded. It struck the saint right on his forehead and the sa...

THE PIGEONS AND THE HUNTER

Pigeons are birds that live in groups. It is very difficult to see a single pigeon. Hunters know this fact. So, whenever they lay nets to catch pigeons, they get many pigeons together. This is one such story. A hunter had laid his net near a paddy field. He was waiting high up on a branch of a nearby banyan tree. Soon a group of pigeons flew to the paddy field to graze. They all got caught in the net. They were all very afraid of what would happen next. There was one wise pigeon. He said, "Friends, we should not be afraid. We have to be courageous. Let us join together. It is time for us to be united. We should fly all at once. Let us flap our wings in unison." Saying this, the smart pigeon started to flap its wings. All other pigeons also started to flap their wings. Soon there was a rhythm and they started to rise. This encouraged the pigeons to flap still faster. Suddenly, the net tore away and the pigeons were free. They flew away happily. Moral: UNITY IS STRENGT...
