THE POWER OF PRAYER - STORY 2

There lived a family of cuckoo birds on a treetop. The mother bird laid many eggs and all of them hatched out into beautiful cuckoo chicks. One among them was a disabled chick The mother bird was very affectionate with this chick.

So was the father bird too. Both the parents took turns to feed the chick. One day, there was a big forest fire. It was spreading fast too. All birds and animals vacated the place in fear. The father bird said to his chicks, "Fly away children. Fly away to safety." The mother bird asked with sorrow in her throat, "How can we leave this poor chick that can't even walk?" The parents decided to stay with the chick.

The disabled chick started praying earnestly, "Oh Lord, please quench the forest fire and save all the animals. Look at the affection and love my parents have for me. You are the Father of the world. Don't you have affection like that of my parents?" What a surprise! The forest was drenched by sudden rain and the forest fire was quenched.

Moral: EARNEST PRAYERS ARE ANSWERED POSITIVELY!!!

PATIENCE IS MAGICAL - MORAL STORY

There was a grazing pasture in between the forest and a nearby village. Just like all domestic animals, a buffalo also used to go to the pasture for its food. A monkey that lived in the forest used to play with the buffalo, always annoying it. It jumped up on the buffalo and pulled its ears. It came from behind and pulled at the buffalo's tail. It was awfully torturing the buffalo. But the buffalo was patiently bearing these pranks. An elephant was witnessing all these. It came to the buffalo and asked, "Hey buffalo, how are you so patiently bearing all botheration of the monkey. If it had been me, by now the monkey would have been long dead." The buffalo replied with a smile, "Dear Elephant if we powerful animals show our impatience, how can there be life in the forest. God created all animals to live in peace." HONEY BEE AND THE PIGEON - MORAL STORY

It was the rainy season. The forest was thriving with lush green leaves and fresh flowers. All birds and animals were busy collecting food during breaks in the showering rain. A pigeon was making some repair work in her nest. She was busy collecting available dry sticks. She was flying here and there. Suddenly, she saw a honey bee being drifted in the river below. The honey bee was trying hard to keep its wings dry. The pigeon was very much sorry for the bee. In an effort to save the honey bee, the pigeon plucked a dry leaf and threw it at the bee. The honey bee was strong enough to lift itself and lay on the dry leaf for some time. Once she was totally dry, the honey bee flew happily saying, "Dear friend, I shall not forget this timely help." Days passed. Autumn came. Hunters poached the forest in search of animals to hunt. They killed any animal they set eyes on. A hunter managed to see the pigeon perched high on the tree. He thought,

THE ELEPHANT AND THE HELPFUL MICE MORAL STORY

In the heart of the forest, there was a ruined palace. The king had used it as a summer resort a long time back. Now that the king had died, there were no visitors and the palace had turned into ruins. This ruined leftover had become the shelter for a colony of mice. Once, a herd of elephants happened to cross that way. With loud trumpeting, they crumpled everything they set foot on. When they were about to crush the ruins, the chief mouse ran to the master elephant and begged, "Hey mighty elephant, we are living in these ruins for generations and generations. All our children and their children would turn homeless if your mighty feet lands on these ruins. Be kind enough to spare our lives and our homes." The kind-hearted elephant ordered its fellow elephants not to disturb the ruins and left the place without damaging it. Days went by. Season changed. Summer came.
