THE GEESE AND THE CROW - MORAL STORY

There was a lush meadow in a dense forest. A brook ran across the meadow. A crow lived on a nearby tree top. She was always dissatisfied. Although she had plenty to eat, she kept on complaining. Even if she had big fish to eat she was not content. She always wanted more.

She looked around and lamented, "All other animals and birds are happy and joyful. They all lead successful living. I alone am unfortunate. I don't get everything I want. The forest is lush, the leaves are green and beautiful, and the brook is full of fish, but, I don't get enough." At that moment her eyes fell on two golden geese loitering here and there. She went to the geese and started, "Oh beautiful geese, how beautiful you are! Look at your colourful feathers.

They are glowing in the sunlight. But look at me. I am so ugly. You should be lucky to get whatever you want to eat. Tell me the secret meal you eat. I too shall eat that and become as beautiful as you are. The geese exchanged looks and answered in a soft voice, "My dear friend, beauty is our character rather than in our food. Be virtuous, and you too shall become beautiful." The greedy crow just then understood the meaning of life.

THE LIZARD AND THE SAINT - MORAL STORY

There was a wicked saint who lived in a village. Although saints were very pious, this saint was the opposite. He was very cunning and selfish. He was not humble and kind. He used to chase away anyone approaching his hut. People did not like him. But, they were afraid of his curses. The saint was arrogant with his powers.      One day, a lizard happened to fall from a nearby tree into his hut. The saint turned very angry. He shouted at the lizard, "Get out of my house immediately, or. I shall curse you." The lizard ran away to save his life.        Not many days later, the same lizard slipped from the tree and fell again. This time the saint could not control his anger. He took a big stone and threw it at the lizard. The lizard was very active. He ran fast and escaped from the stone. However, the saint was not lucky. The stone missed the lizard and rebounded. It struck the saint right on his forehead and the sa...

THE SNAKE AND THE GREEN FROG - MORAL STORY

It had just rained and the forest was nourishing with water everywhere. There was no shortage of food for every animal.  A snake was swimming in a pond. It had an eye on the plentiful fish in the pond. As it was about to catch a fish, the other fish saw it and pecked at it, biting and annoying it. The snake could not catch the fish. The disappointed snake swam to the shore and was about to leave the place. Just then it saw a frog croaking nearby. So it went to the frog and asked, "What is the justice in the act of the fish.        I was about to catch a big fish, but the other fish chased me off." The frog thought for a while and replied, "Of course, it is just. When the fish comes to you, you can eat it. But, when you go to the fish the fish have right to chase you off." Saying this, the frog leapt away saying to itself, "Oh God! I've been lucky today to have escaped." Moral: EVEN THE MIGHTY ERRS  !!! **** **** ****

THE ELEPHANT AND THE HELPFUL MICE MORAL STORY

In the heart of the forest, there was a ruined palace. The king had used it as a summer resort a long time back.    Now that the king had died, there were no visitors and the palace had turned into ruins. This ruined leftover had become the shelter for a colony of mice. Once, a herd of elephants happened to cross that way. With loud trumpeting, they crumpled everything they set foot on. When they were about to crush the ruins, the chief mouse ran to the master elephant and begged, "Hey mighty elephant, we are living in these ruins for generations and generations. All our children and their children would turn homeless if your mighty feet lands on these ruins. Be kind enough to spare our lives and our homes." The kind-hearted elephant ordered its fellow elephants not to disturb the ruins and left the place without damaging it.          Days went by. Season changed. Summer came. The mice went through the entire forest in search of food. As they were appr...
