THE GOLDEN TOUCH - MORAL STORY

There was a very powerful king named Midas. He was greedier than he was powerful. He plundered all countries around his kingdom.

Once, while he was worshipping, a deity appeared and said, "Hey king, I am pleased with your prayers. Ask for any wish and I shall grant that." The greedy king humbly replied, "Thank you Deity. Grant me a boon that whatever I touch shall turn into gold." With a smile, the deity said, "So shall it be. From now on whatever you touch shall turn into gold". Midas returned to his palace filled with joy. He wanted to test his new power. He touched a pillar. The entire palace turned into gold. From then on, whatever he touched turned into gold. Although Midas was happy at first, his happiness did not last long.

In hunger, if touched his food, that too turned into gold. Water turned into gold in his touch. Fruits turned into gold. He could not touch anything or anyone - even those whom he loved so much. Once his daughter ran to him in affection and hugged him. Alas, she too turned into gold. It was then that Midas felt very sorry for his greed.

He knelt down and started to weep and weep in repentance. The deity appeared and asked, "Midas, aren't you happy with your power. Everything turns into gold. Isn't this what you wanted!" "Please don't tease me," cried Midas. "I don't want this power any more. I want to be a normal man. Gone are my cruelty and greed. I want to be a new king who is kind and understanding," he continued. The deity took away his power. Midas ruled his kingdom with justice and love. He became a noble king to his people.

Moral: GREED IS THE ROOT CAUSE OF MISERY.

Bunny was a lively rabbit. He was always in the company of some animal or the other. He was friendly with all of them.               Once, Bunny heard a pack of hunting dogs in the forest. He was afraid that they would catch him. He ran to a deer he thought was his close friend and said, "Dear brother, I hear a pack of hunting dogs in the forest nearby. Please save me. You have such sharp antlers. You can thrash them. Please help me, friend !" The coolly replied, "I am sorry, Bunny.        I am too busy to help you out. Go and find someone else for your help." Bunny ran to many of his friends - the bear, the monkey, the zebra, and even the panther. They all gave the same reply. Finally, the tired Bunny met a mouse and told his pathetic state. The mouse replied, "Why are you panicking. Just get into your borough and stay inside till the pack leaves this area. You shall be safe." Bunny we...

THE SNAKE AND THE GREEN FROG - MORAL STORY

It had just rained and the forest was nourishing with water everywhere. There was no shortage of food for every animal.  A snake was swimming in a pond. It had an eye on the plentiful fish in the pond. As it was about to catch a fish, the other fish saw it and pecked at it, biting and annoying it. The snake could not catch the fish. The disappointed snake swam to the shore and was about to leave the place. Just then it saw a frog croaking nearby. So it went to the frog and asked, "What is the justice in the act of the fish.        I was about to catch a big fish, but the other fish chased me off." The frog thought for a while and replied, "Of course, it is just. When the fish comes to you, you can eat it. But, when you go to the fish the fish have right to chase you off." Saying this, the frog leapt away saying to itself, "Oh God! I've been lucky today to have escaped." Moral: EVEN THE MIGHTY ERRS  !!! **** **** ****
